November 2025 Team Member of the Month

Every day, Keystone Food Service team members work tirelessly to provide students with nutritious, delicious meals served with genuine care. This month, we're proud to honor Christy Berelc, Site Supervisor at Mooreland Public Schools, for her outstanding commitment to excellence and her heartfelt dedication to every student she serves.

When Christy learned that Diana Robinson had recognized her, she was grateful. "I am so thankful for this incredible honor. I am truly grateful for the recognition, but couldn't do what I do without my team's hard work and dedication."

When asked what makes Christy stand out, Diana said, "Her special attention to kids who have special dietary needs." This dedication ensures that every child, regardless of dietary restrictions, receives meals that are both nutritious and delicious.

When asked about the Grandmother Standards, Christy pointed to Standard #1 as particularly meaningful to her approach. "At Mooreland, preparing our food as if we were preparing for our children or grandchildren is very important to us. I believe this standard extends beyond the immediate meal focus and holds a deeper meaning than just preparing food. It has a nurturing standard of quality." She understands that every meal is prepared with love and care, always striving to improve the taste of what they cook for the students.

For Christy, the greatest reward comes from seeing students genuinely enjoy their meals. "It's always the best feeling to have a child tell you that you cook the best food in the world. It means a lot knowing that they truly enjoy what we've cooked for them. We have kids who eat things at school that they refuse to eat at home. That means we must be doing something right!" Her commitment to ensuring students enjoy their meals speaks to the heart of Keystone Food Service's mission of feeding the next generation.
